Even then it's a "questionable" idea. Baloo extracts and indexes the EXIF data embedded in the image (the ISO Speed, the Focal Length etc, etc), plus file metadata like the xattr tags. It's all in one place and quickly accessible, for files that have been content indexed. Without Baloo, Dolphin would have to do the work "there and then" itself.
