Show effect of adjusting the "date" digits
DESCRIPTION
The day in a date field may automatically be highlighted, and that is
convenient and welcome. To change the "day" digits, simply type over them, or
press backspace and then type in the new date. But suppose that out of habit we
try backspacing to adjust a day that is not highlighted. If we delete the
leftmost digit, we automatically (and unexpectedly) delete the slash (virgule)
before it. This can lead to confusion.
(My system is set up for month-day-year. I assume that for day-month-year the
same effect would be seen with the "month" digits.)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use ctrl-INS to create a new transaction in the ledger.
2. Note that the "day" (in digits) is highlighted.
3. Do anything to cancel the highlight (for example, press right-arrow or type
over the date).
4. According to the number of digits for the day, backspace to delete what's
there.
OBSERVED RESULT
When we delete the leftmost digit, the slash before it also disappears.
EXPECTED RESULT
The slash should remain.
