DESCRIPTION
Recently a new Wayland protocol has been merged into the main Wayland Protocols
gitlab repo, and the protocol is called xx-hotkey-v1
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/merge_requests/525
and it's objective is to fix the lack of a proper way to support global hotkeys
on Wayland.
Hyprland and Ghostty already support it, and there is an open PR for Niri and
OBS Studio
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This protocol would fix one of the last standing issues with Wayland, which is
the lack of global hotkeys support.
