not able to open large text files
Steps to reproduce
Launch Kate and open Questions.txt.
Actual result
Kate crashes with SIGSEGV; DrKonqi opens.
Expected result
Kate opens the text file normally.
File details
UTF-8 text, CRLF line endings, 329,597 bytes, 5,956 lines.
Environment
Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS, Kate 23.08.5 (4:23.08.5-0ubuntu3), Linux 6.14.0-34-kfocus
x86_64.
Additional observation
The journal also records a crash after starting Kate without a file. Include
whether that happens consistently, and paste the DrKonqi backtrace here.
The crash can be reproduced every time.
