Bug ID: 526657
Summary: RDP and VNC Plugins failing to load
Classification: Applications
Product: krdc
Version First 26.08.1
Reported In:
Platform: EndeavourOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
After installing krdc via pacman and default repos, KRDC doesn't load either
the VNC or RDC plugins properly. I checked within the settings and both are
checked to show they are enabled and I can attempt to configure them, but when
attempting to add a new connection neither option is available. I tried
launching via console and got the following errors immediately upon launching
krdc.
kf.coreaddons: "Could not load plugin from
/usr/lib/qt6/plugins/krdc/krdc_rdpplugin.so: Cannot load library
/usr/lib/qt6/plugins/krdc/krdc_rdpplugin.so: libfreerdp-client3.so.3: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory"
kf.coreaddons: "Could not load plugin from
/usr/lib/qt6/plugins/krdc/krdc_vncplugin.so: Cannot load library
/usr/lib/qt6/plugins/krdc/krdc_vncplugin.so: libvncclient.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory"
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install krdc
OBSERVED RESULT
krdc fails to load plugins for RDP and VNC making both options unavailable for
creating a connection
EXPECTED RESULT
krdc loads plugins for RDP and VNC and creating a new connection or connecting
using an existing works fine.
