Bug ID: 526799
Summary: Crash (Segmentation Fault) when removing any object
from the workspace (Assertion failure in
rkmodificationtracker.cpp)
Classification: Applications
Product: rkward
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: User Interface
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Whenever I try to remove any object from the Global Environment/Workspace, the
RKWard GUI instantly crashes with a Segmentation fault (core dumped). The
backend successfully executes the `rm()` command and performs an emergency
save, but the frontend crashes when trying to update the object model.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open RKWard using the official Linux AppImage.
2. Create any object in the R Console (e.g., `anova.results <- 1`).
3. Delete the object (e.g., running `rm(anova.results)` or deleting it via the
Workspace Browser GUI).
OBSERVED RESULT
RKWard crashes immediately. Terminal shows: `Violación de segmento ('core'
generado)` (Segmentation fault).
EXPECTED RESULT
The object is removed and the Workspace Browser updates without crashing.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window):
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I ran the AppImage with `--debug-level 5`. The logs clearly point to an
assertion failure in the UI model update logic.
Here is the crucial part of the **Frontend trace**:

Here is the corresponding **Backend trace** right before the crash, showing the
backend finishes the removal and the frontend disconnects:
