Tested for plasma 6.7.5, the wallpaper still appears with every new window-switching move - that is, when using Alt-Tab, it shows up each time you press the Tab key. If you have like 30 windows open, getting to the last one becomes a real marathon - and an exhausting one at that. My suggestion is that there should be no animation when bringing the window to the foreground.
