I was talking about the mockup, not about the code base, and indeed I am the
developer of this mockup ;)

I am not really asking for this feature to be implemented, rather I had an idea
and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on this. I am 90% confident I could
in case get accustomed with Dolphin’s code base and implement that mechanic
myself. I rather want to see if other people do see benefits with this.

I don‘t really think so. Scrolling behaviour would actually be the same as
before, just that we are simulating a longer screen than we actually have.

I am aware of this. But I don‘t think having as much density as possible is the
goal. I personally don’t work well will compact and symbol view, since I have
some visual processing issues, and structured views like the detail view make
it much easier for me to handle information. But then for me the detail view on
large screens just becomes extremely sparse. And there are good reasons for
this: The visual spread between file name and information makes it really hard
on the brain to parse a single line a connected unit (which is the reason why
wide bodies of text become hard to read).

It just seems to me there is something missing between having 50 files on your
whole screen, and having 600 files on your screen. And yes, I am bringing this
up because it is an issue that affects me, but really because I think that
something like this might be nice way in the middle.

If this is not the correct place to discuss such ideas I sorry for taking this
to the wrong place.
