            Bug ID: 527037
Summary: mpv playing 4k120 videos shows output drops with
                    9070xt
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.7.5
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: performance
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
Playing a 4k60 video in mpv at 2x speed shows dropped "output" frames. Note
these are not "decoder" drops. I believe "output" means the gpu is having
trouble pushing the decoded pixels to the display. The displays are
4k144/4k160hz monitors

Also tried setting KWIN_DRM_USE_COLOR_PIPELINE=1 and checking that with the
"showcompositing" effect enabled that the mpv window has no red border. However
still getting output drops.

These drops also manifest in firefox playing the youtube video at 2x.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. download a sample video with yt-dlp:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR11eWdfZYE
2. play the video in mpv with `mpv 20261013_The\ Witcher\ 3\ Remastered\ Path\
Tracing\ CPU\ Performance\ Re-Tested:\ Big\ Gains\ With\ Patch\
5.01_aR11eWdfZYE.webm --no-config --speed=2.0 --hwdec=vaapi --start=20
--fullscreen`
3. press shift+I in mpv to view debug stats

OBSERVED RESULT
mpv debug shows: "Dropped frames: 0 (decoder) 100 (output)"
or some other non-zero output drops
terminal window running mpv also prints a non-zero "Dropped" counter

EXPECTED RESULT
0 output drops
