In the Ekos Manager, the second box is titled "2. Start & Stop Ekos", but its
button starts and
stops the INDI services (local indiserver, or the remote profile through the
INDI Web Manager).
The Ekos window stays open, and the log says so: "Starting INDI services...",
"INDI services
stopped." (kstars/ekos/manager.cpp).
This was first reported by mistake in the Invent issue tracker
(education/kstars#299).
WHY IT MATTERS
With a remote profile, I used "3. Connect & Disconnect Devices" to end the
session, expecting
"Stop Ekos" to close KStars' side only. "Disconnect" only disconnects the
devices, so indiserver
kept running on the remote host for days (camera cooler on, etc.). The button
that actually stops
indiserver is the one in box 2, but its title does not say so.
EXPECTED
The title names what the button does: "2. Start & Stop INDI".
FIX
A merge request on invent.kde.org changes the title in kstars/ekos/manager.ui
(one string, no code
change). Merge request: (link to be added)
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KStars 3.8.5 (Flatpak, org.kde.kstars stable), same title in master as of
2026-10-14.
Linux (Kubuntu), remote INDI server on StellarMate OS (Raspberry Pi 5).
