Screen recording: rename .zip to .cbz (old icon and default app until I leave
the folder and come back) and .txt to .py (old icon until F5)
DESCRIPTION
After I rename a file’s extension in Dolphin, the new name shows, but the icon
and the default app stay the same as the old extension. They only update after
I leave the folder and enter it again (or click F5).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a folder in Dolphin that has test.zip in it.
2. Rename it to test.cbz.
3. The icon is still the zip file icon.
4. Right-click → Open With. The default app is still the one for .zip.
5. Press F5 OR Go to another folder and come back. Now the icon and the default
app are correct.
Same bug with: .txt renamed to .py
OBSERVED RESULT
The file still shows the zip icon and opens with the zip app. It is correct
only after I leave the folder and enter it again, or click F5.
EXPECTED RESULT
The icon and the default app match the new extension right after the rename.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
About the attachment video:
- .zip → .cbz: After the rename I left the folder and came back. Then the icon
was correct. The default app for .cbz is YACReader, and for .zip it is Ark.
Before leaving the folder, the file still opened with Ark.
- .txt → .py: After the rename I pressed F5, and the icon updated. Both types
use KWrite as the default app, so the app does not show the problem in this
test. Only the icon does.
