[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Ever confirmed|0 |1 Resolution|FIXED |--- --- Comment #5 from [email protected] --- Reopening: I closed this because sizes appeared, but it is intermittent and reproducible, not fixed. The version-skew guess in the description is also wrong. Reproduction (Fedora 44, plasma-discover 6.7.5-1, PackageKit 1.4.0-1, PackageKit-Qt6 1.1.4-4, none changed since the report): 1. Launch Discover and open Updates: "System upgrade" size is "Unknown". 2. Press Refresh: a size appears. 3. Quit Discover and relaunch: "Unknown" again. The sizes do reach Discover. A busctl trace of the PackageKit bus during a launch that showed "Unknown" has Discover's GetUpdates, then GetDetails, with three Details replies, all with non-zero "size" and "download-size". The Refresh that then showed a size made no new GetDetails call, so Discover already held the data and only the first page load fails to display it. With Discover's debug logging on, "Removed offline results file" (printed in PackageKitUpdater::prepare()) appears three times during one page load, so prepare() and setCandidates() run several times while the details are arriving. I suspect the System upgrade row misses the size updates during that window, but I have not verified it. Separate issue: the total uses the installed size, not the download size. PackageKitResource::size() returns m_details.size(). For these three packages Discover showed 2.4 GiB, while the download sizes add up to about 855 MB. The analysis of the trace and source was done with AI assistance; the captures and reproduction are from my own system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
