After restarting Kate, there was still problem with the 2 tabs. To hotfix the problem I have configured Kate to open with a manually selected Session. After this I have deleted the Session (which was the only one existing Session, so this caused another problem, that after reopening Kate there was always only a new empty file instead of selection of a Session).
