I tried this as well, did not help. The only thing helping on my machine, is setting KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1, which I think eliminates the cursor as a trigger for the issue. However black screen (flickers) still occurs when switching windows or opening/closing dialogs, e.g. permanent delete dialog in Dolphin.
