Bug ID: 527592
Summary: Plasma 6.8 does not retain wallpaper settings for
screen locker
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.8.0
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: Screen locking
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
Ever since the launch of the 6.8.x plasma series, the screen locker has started
to ignore my wallpaper settings, whereas the desktop shell and the plasma login
manager both retain my preferences.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings to change the Lock Screen wallpaper to something other
than the default Hanabi wallpaper
2. Set new wallpaper, such as "Scarlet Tree", and apply changes
3. Lock the computer, either through super + L, or closing and reopening a
laptop lid
OBSERVED RESULT
My selected wallpaper flashes for a split moment before then being replaced by
the plasma 6.8 Hanabi default.
EXPECTED RESULT
It should display my selected wallpaper
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.31.0
Qt Version: 6.12.0
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Seems to be a new bug as I did not change anything with regards to
configuration when I "pacman-ed" from version 6.7.5 to 6.8.0. I waited a week
to see if it was something small that might have been fixed in 6.8.1, but the
buggy behaviour is still there. I was using a wayland session both before and
after the upgrade.
Occasionally, the system might remember my new wallpaper for a bit, but it
seems to always eventually revert to Hanabi.
It also seems to depend on the wallpaper. Scarlet Tree (my intended one),
Waterfall, and Nuvole will bug out, but One Stands Out, Path, and Pastel Hills
seem to "stick" (just as a few examples).

irrelevant:
