Bug ID: 527655
Summary: (FEATURE REQUEST) kscreenctl set-scale, add seperate
horizantal/vertical scaling option
Classification: Plasma
Product: KScreen
Version First 6.8.0

Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux

Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR

Target Milestone: ---
Kscreenctl works very well for configuring 15khz crts over displayport. Hdmi
does not work with traditional 320x240 and 640x480i modes due to the pixel
clock minimum. This requires super resolutions like 2560x240p, which make the
desktop streched outside of certain programs designed to use it.
X11’s xrandr has a dimensional scale option, —scale 0.5x1, 1x2 that allows for
the image to be horizantally/vertically stretched. This allows 2560x240 to be
used as a traditional 320x240 screen over HDMI.
Many laptops and desktops only have HDMI. This would be a nice feature, and I’m
sure there are scenarios outside of crts where the stretched display may be
useful.
