Yes, it actually looks like you were able to reproduce the behavior I'm
referring to in your screen recording.

I'm talking about the toolbar containing "Undo", "Redo", "Save", and "Save As"
that appears at the top of the image after making modifications, such as
flipping, mirroring, rotating, adjusting colors, or, in your example, adding
annotations.

I frequently use Gwenview to flip, mirror, rotate, and make color adjustments
to images. My issue is that this toolbar appears immediately after making a
modification and remains visible while working with the image.

I find this unnecessarily intrusive, particularly when using Gwenview in a
small window, where the toolbar occupies valuable viewing space.

I would prefer to make modifications freely without having the save toolbar
appear every time. Saving should remain something I initiate manually through
Ctrl+S or the menu.

I'm not suggesting that this behavior should be removed for everyone. I would
simply appreciate an option to disable the toolbar while retaining all existing
editing and saving functionality.

So the issue isn't that Gwenview prevents me from editing. It's that the
persistent save toolbar unnecessarily interferes with my workflow.

I'm also running CachyOS with Gwenview 26.08.2.
