Using Arch. Pinned kwin for now... Confirming on Arch Linux with a different GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT. Game: Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (Steam/Proton, XWayland), vsync on. After updating kwin 6.8.0-1 → 6.8.1-2, frame rate dropped to a steady ~20 fps (consistent with vsync quantizing at 60 Hz → 20). Mesa 26.2.5 and kernel 7.2.11 were unchanged from the previous working day, so only KWin changed in the graphics stack. Downgrading kwin to 6.8.0-1 and restarting the session fully restored performance.
