Bug ID: 527701
Summary: Dropping X11 Makes Desktop Zoom Unusable for Visually
Disabled
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.8.0
Reported In:
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: critical
Priority: NOR
Component: core
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
The wayland desktop zoom makes fonts a blurry mess when zooming in, vs the
crisp easily readable fonts under X11. This is absolutely crippling for people
with low vision. This is a huge step backward for accessibility. Clearly this
wasn't considered when making the decision to end X11 support. Please fix the
compositor to scale fonts correctly or bring back X11.
