            Bug ID: 527715
Summary: "remember password" does not delete stored password
    Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
           Product: frameworks-solid
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
When mounting an encrypted device with the password stored in KWallet,
unchecking the “remember password” checkbox does not delete the stored
password.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. mount a USB drive with a stored password in KWallet, which will be inserted
in the password field.
2. uncheck “remember password” and click “ok”
3. unmount and remount the device

OBSERVED RESULT
The password is not cleared after unchecking “remember password”.

EXPECTED RESULT
The password is cleared from KWallet.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The code in plasma-workspace:soliduiserver/soliduiserver.cpp does not handle
the case where a saved password exists and “remember password” is turned off.

Deleting an already stored password is not easily possible (without using
KWalletManager, which is not intuitive). Deleting a password by accident is
unlikely since it requires the user manually unchecking the checkbox, which is
enabled by default.
