            Bug ID: 527726
Summary: Creating a file with a name longer than 255 characters
fails with “Unknown error” instead of “File name is
                    too long”
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: CachyOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general

  Target Milestone: ---

Description:
When trying to create a new file in Dolphin with a file name longer than 255
characters, the file is not created and the application shows an “Unknown
error” message. The cause of the failure is known and expected: the file name
is too long. Dolphin should display a clear, user-friendly error such as “File
name is too long” instead of “Unknown error”.

Steps to reproduce:

    Open Dolphin.

    Navigate to a writable directory.

Create a new file and enter a file name longer than 255 characters.

    Confirm file creation.

Actual result:
The file is not created. Dolphin displays an “Unknown error” message.

Expected result:
The file is not created. Dolphin displays a clear error message stating that
the file name is too long, e.g. “File name is too long”.

Additional information:
The file name length limit is known, and the error cause is known. The issue is
that the UI reports it as an unknown error instead of the correct, expected
error message.
