DESCRIPTION
Initially noted here:
https://discuss.kde.org/t/add-option-to-disable-touchscreen-when-its-display-is-disabled/51523
(includes screenshots, may be easier to follow)
I use a Steam Deck, which has a built-in touchscreen. I often connect it to an
external monitor, and disable the built-in screen through display
configuration. (After the first time, KDE remembers this and automatically
disables the built-in screen when it's connected.)
However, the touchscreen input remains active, and whenever I touch it by
accident, it can cause undesired actions to happen on the external screen.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have both touchscreen and a non-touch display; verify touch input is working
as it should.
2. In System Settings -> Display Configuration, disable the display of the
touchscreen. Apply.
3. Touch the touchscreen, which is now not showing anything
OBSERVED RESULT
The touch input is registered and may perform actions on the live display. In
my case, the touch event is always on the top-left corner of the screen.
EXPECTED RESULT
The touch input should be ignored completely, since the screen it was mapped to
is not enabled. The same is expected if the display is disconnected entirely
(e.g, HDMI cable) but the touch device (USB) remains connected.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: SteamOS 3.9.5 Build: 20261023.100
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.28.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
As I mentioned in the discuss thread I linked at the top, I've found various
open bugs related to touchscreen-display mapping:
Bug 511936
Bug 476368 (seems to be duplicate of the above)
Bug 481693
Bug 491956
Bug 419392
Bug 466685
Perhaps they should all be tracked together.
