[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #29 from [email protected] --- Hello everyone, Adding a data point now that the X11 session is gone. Setup: Fedora 44, Plasma 6.8.2 (Wayland only; plasma-workspace-x11 in the repos is still 6.7.5, so there’s no matching X11 session). Use case: I use this machine remotely over RDP, often when nobody is logged in locally. Until now that worked with xrdp and a Plasma X11 session. Since Plasma dropped X11, xrdp can’t start Plasma anymore, so I had to install XFCE just to keep remote access working. Why KRdp doesn’t cover it yet: KRdp only shares an already running local session. With no user logged in there’s no session and no RDP server. The 6.8 auto-lock on disconnect (thanks for that) makes autologin plus KRdp workable for a single user, but it’s still one shared session and not a separate remote login like xrdp or GNOME’s remote login through GDM. What I’m looking for: connecting over RDP at the login screen (Plasma Login Manager), authenticating there, and getting a fresh headless Plasma Wayland session, ideally one that’s independent of any local session. Is this still planned as part of Plasma Login Manager, and is there a rough target version or a merge request to follow? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
