Bug ID: 528372
Summary: Lock screen clock does not respect configured font
features
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.8.2
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Screen locking
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0

demo, see the 6 in the date being correct and the 6 in the clock being the
default Inter configuration. also see the 'odd spacing' of the 1 for why I
think it's forcing tnum
DESCRIPTION
The time on the lock screen appears to be configured to force the 'tnum' font
feature, overwriting user-configured font features. The date field still works
correctly.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Plasma to use a font that supports OpenType features and configure
Plasma to use these (particularly features changing numbers)
2. Lock the screen
3. Observe that the time is not using the font features you configured.
OBSERVED RESULT
As now in the Digital Clock widget, the clock should respect font features
configured in System Settings while applying tnum as well (to avoid numbers
jumping around).
EXPECTED RESULT
The font features appear to be ignored or overwritten to only use the tnum
attribute, looking inconsistent compared to the date field
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Kinoite 44
KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.31.0
Qt Version: 6.11.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Looks to be very similar to bug #524257 I reported a couple of months ago and
has just been fixed in 6.8.2
Appears to be a regression from 6.7, it didn't previously appear to be using
tnum so possibly that's been added overwriting user-applied features instead of
adding to them? I don't know the inner workings of Plasma that well though so
that's only an observation.
