In my opinion, there are many strange things in the design of this feature. I think its design is over complicated. There is a deadlock: if both LastEraser_%1 and LastPreset_%1 gets the same preset somehow, then there is no way to separate the pen tip and the eraser again. It actually happened to me, both contained the "Eraser_circle" value.
