Also, please check with qdbusviewer if there is a org.kde.kappmenu and a com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar service registered on the session bus. Is your plasma-integration package up to date (probably also 5.9.4 I guess) and is it loaded (e.g. do you get Breeze style in applications and the KDE "file open" dialog rather than a ugly Qt fallback)?
