"15.12.0" ... which sources do you use? My Kdenlive pulled from git source code
repository over the course of past weeks already gave me "15.13.0" when on git
master. If you are on "Applications/15.12" instead, can you please pull 15.12.1
and give it a try if the crash still persists?
