            Bug ID: 382271
           Summary: Network
           Product: dolphin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: panels: folders
          Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: roduffy2...@yahoo.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

Yesterday,11/07/17, I installed Kubuntu 17.04 on a Toshiba laptop As I was
unable to access my home network devices, I opened 'smd.conf and immediately
after the line 'workgroup = WORKGROUP, I added the following line of text,'name
resolve order = bcast host', which had worked for me using Mint 18.2. However,
even after adding this line in Kubuntu's Dolphin, using Dolphin > Network >
Samba Shares > Workgroup, I was still unable to access files on my router
shares, although its title, 'Talktalk router', appeared in the list (I got this
message'Timeout on server workgroup'). However, I was able to access files on
my 'Diskstation', which was also in the list. On another computer, using Linux
Mint 18.2 and its File Manager, Nemo, I could access all my folders on all my
network devices. So, I installed Nemo in Kubuntu and using Nemo instead of
Dolphin, I was able to access all my files. So, my request is that you either
replace Dolphin with Nemo in Kubuntu or add sufficient features to Dolphin that
it can access all devices and their folders on a users home network. Thank
you.
