Bug ID: 358916 Summary: Usability: Address bar in Konqueror should not loose focus while loading Product: konqueror Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org Reporter: ka...@seznam.cz CC: d.h.j.tak...@xs4all.nl, fa...@kde.org, kde-b...@pyoworks.com, miss...@hotmail.com, mpar...@gmx.net, t...@iki.fi This problem is back and it became a major annoyance in latest Konqueror versions[*]. The pages keep stealing focus all the time, and the suggested workaround to hit "Stop" button before typing an URL does NOT work any longer. Even if the page seems to be fully loaded, some active content does something and the focus is gone (e.g. various autocomplete features grab the focus into their input field even when it is empty). This makes it almost impossible to change and 'execute' the URL on some pages, especially in combination with the bug #358914. Note that unlike original description, it does not affect just the start page but any page. observed with Konqueror 4.14.14 [*] Read: Since ~2 months back I started observing this at sites that worked okay before, and I doubt that all of them changed their code in such short timeframe, so I suspect a change in Konqueror that made it worse, hence "in latest versions". +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #64868 +++ Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3) Installed from: Compiled From Sources OS: Linux A small annoyance that is present in many web browsers, including konqueror: You open a new konqueror window in the webbrowsing profile, and konqueror starts loading the startup page. While the load is in progress, you start typing the address of the website you want to visit. But while you are typing, the address bar suddenly looses focus when the start page has finished loading. Nobody should steal focus from the address bar while typing a URL. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
