GUI alternative: - ctrl+f, enable search inside hidden option (that's what's lacking) - type in name - wait - type in again - ok I got it, right click -> delete Problem is that you can see files inside dot folders using alt+. shortcut or via menu option. So you can go inside and search one by one and find what you want. Even more, if you go inside one of dot folders you can search within. So you are pretty able to do something bad and accidentally delete or rename files.
