Do you have GL_ARB_sync and GL_ARB_buffer_storage extensions?

This forces the broken path, but disables the ringbuffer:
KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=0 KWIN_PERSISTENT_VBO=0 kwin_x11 --replace &
