That seems to have a major effect on playback performance even when proxy clips are 640x360p50. Hmm why are they p50? Shouldn't be needed really... I was able to go back to 17.04.3-1 version but could not see any improvement there. 16.12.3-1 binaries from snapshot.debian.org no longer work on Debian unstable due to Qt dependencies.
