So for those Chromium instances, Chromium is choosing its own icon, and KWin is using that instead of respecting the custom icon you've set in the .desktop files. Though it's not the same issue, the root cause is the same as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351055, so I'm going mark it as a duplicate as getting that fixed will fix this, too. In a nutshell, there are two ways for us to go forward: 1. Change the KWin behavior on X11 to always use the icon from the desktop file instead of letting the window choose its own icon 2.
