Thanks for the report.
Unfortunately it seems that this specific scanner does not yet have support in
the sane pixma backend.
As a temporary workaround you can use Canon's scanning application that uses
non-opesource libraries.
You could ask on the sane development list what the status is with that
specific scanner.
