            Bug ID: 386967
Summary: Digikam with Adobe Bridge keywords under Windows
           Product: digikam
           Version: 5.7.0
          Platform: MS Windows
                OS: MS Windows
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: grave
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Metadata-Engine
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: lmoll...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi everybody,

I'm using Adobe Bridge to assign keywords to my pictures (I found it useful
with the metadata template feature), and I'm using Digikam for the catalog and
database feature, to search inside my thousand picture directories using the
keywords assigned with Bridge. It is working well when I first assign keywords
into Bridge and add these pictures to the Digikam database.

But, when I first add pictures to the Digikam database before assigning
keywords into Bridge (due to a lack of time, or keywords ideas !), it is not
working, even when I perform a file to database metadata sync.
It seems like Digikam is not seeing the changes made to the images from Bridge
(all other imaging programms are seeing the changes).
I found that if I add the keywords with Windows explorer (doing a right-click,
chosing "properties" and writing into the "details" tab) it is recognized by
Digikam directly without having to do a metadata sync (just like if Windows is
having the correct "recipe" to do so ! and not Bridge). It is the same i I make
the change from Lightroom. It is also working well if I only add a keyword
(using the Windows Explorer method) to existing ones (previously setted by
Bridge).
So it is looking like if Digikam is expecting a "trigger" tag to update
database from jpeg file. But what is this trigger ?

Can someone give me clues or a solution just to write keywords into Adobe
Bridge and reading them and updating the database into Digikam ?

Many thanks.

Lionel
