I have lurked the /sys filesystem, and I've found that the 4.14 device tree is "missing" a symlink to the usbfs (see attachment al line 109). I don't know how to check that solid or mtp do really use that file. Obviously, I wasn't able to create that symlink on 4.14 to see if it solves the issue neither delete it from 4.11.
