This problem is with the old version of the thumbnails before my rewrite one year ago. Since it's not my code, this is from my side a won't fix. Sorry, I must concentrate on other stuff at the moment, but maybe someone else will fix it for the old version. The good news is though that the next Plasma LTS release is due in January, which then has of course my rewrite.
