open system settings > account details > user manager
set some avatar to your account using some file from your hard disk
restart plasma
open system settings > account details > user manager
edit 'Real name" field from your account
click "Apply" button
Your avatar remains the same above "Real name" field, but in the side bar it
changed to default avatar.
logout: now SDDM shows default avatar
start plasma and lock your screen: default avatar is also used in screen locker
