I was just suggesting with the GMIC filter a temporary workaround. Your request for a good filter to add grain is totally legit. If a good "Add grain" filter was inside Krita official filter, we could use it as a Filter Layer ; less destructive to add the grain as a dynamic effect on the top of the layer stack for end-compositing.
