Bug ID: 393588 Summary: non-default $XDG_CONFIG_HOME breaks account handling Product: telepathy Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: accounts-kcm Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org Reporter: georges.dupe...@gmail.com Target Milestone: Future Created attachment 112288 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112288&action=edit Screenshot showing two accounts, the "configure" button which does not work, and the empty accounts / contacts list in the plasma tile Steps to reproduce: 1) Create a new unix user account named georges-kde5, using the default /etc/skel (nothing interesting in that) 2) sudo mkdir -p /home/georges-kde5/Documents/git/my/config-private-dot.config && sudo chown -R georges-kde5:georges-kde5 /home/georges-kde5 3) In /etc/environment add: XDG_CONFIG_HOME="/home/georges-kde5/Documents/git/my/config-private-dot.config" 4) Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart the X server (just in case) 5) Log into a KDE5 session 6) Click the telepathy systray/plasma icon, click "configure now" 7) Add a new Google (or Jabber) account, login in the web window and accept the permissions 8) The account seems to be created, is listed in the configuration dialog, but the systray/plasma tile stays empty with a "configure now" button. Also, when clicking on "configure" next to a service (e.g. "Google Hangouts"), nothing happens If I skip steps 2 & 3 (after deleting all files in ~georges-kde5 and copying back /etc/skel), then everything works fine (I can see contacts in the systray/plasma tile, and the "configure" button works). Note that this issue may be releated to KWalletManager5 ? Version: Telepathy 1:5.16.3-1ubuntu6 for KDE5 on Xubuntu 16.04 (after installin the "kubuntu-desktop" package). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
