I can confirm the same issue happens. I don't use FTP, but I experienced this
issue with MTP and sftp (or whatever KDE connect uses to browse the phone files
from the computer).
If I instead drag and drop the files I want to copy over it works as expected.
Copy and paste via right click doesn't.
