Bug ID: 360243 Summary: BAD ordering of search results Product: Baloo Version: 5.9.2 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Engine Assignee: m...@vhanda.in Reporter: gougho...@gmail.com CC: pinak.ah...@gmail.com It's just embarrassing to use the Baloo search engine: Someone asked me to show a doc. I proudly (Why? I'm the only one in my office using KDE.) pressed Alt+Space and typed the full name of that doc. But fuck! Where is it? Seconds later, I had to open dolphin to locate that doc. (I'm sure I typed the exact file name.) What Baloo gives is a bunch of files with no reasonable ordering. Ill-ordering and full-text indexing makes Baloo useless to me: I have a lot of files having keyword BLAH and one file with file name BLAH.pdf, then most likely I cannot locate BLAH.pdf with Baloo quickly. Disabling full-text indexing is not appropriate, of course. Then Baloo SHOULD order it's search results. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put a lot of files with similar topics in a folder indexed by Baloo. 2. Search one file by it's file name. Actual Results: The file I want is listed at a random position. Expected Results: The file I want is listed at the beginning. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
