I'm not a dev, so while I can bisect and read the source of a culprit commit, it doesn't necessarily tell me what might be wrong like it might to a dev. But it may be worth noting that I have (gentoo/kde's) semantic-desktop USE flag turned off. That means no baloo or kfilemetadata here. Related? And based on the qdbus in the commit code, suspecting the version of it I'm running might make a difference.
