I can reproduce in Krita4.1appimage:
1. Create a new document (the default 1600x1200 sRGB 8bit with two layer, white
background and a transparent)
2. Create two colored dots with airbrush on top active layer
3. Image > Convert Image Color Space, with this settings:
   - Model: Greyscale/Alpha
   - Depth: 32bit , then OK.
4. Wait until the colored dot switch to greyscale.
5. Press Ctrl+Z to undo.
(the infinite "Waiting for image operation to complete" appears)
