That bug was solved in the development version of Krusader, if you want to use
it and you can follow the steps of
https://commits.kde.org/krusader?path=INSTALL
(probably you can because you are a Gentoo user :-) ) then you can build
Krusader and get the latest features :-) , tell Krusader developers about what
you find, improve Krusader :-), etc.
