Hi Mr H Green,
I believe that the behavior that you're describing is the intended operation of
the Overview docker. The Overview is meant to give the artist a "birds-eye
view" of their entire work. This helps you to be able to see the bigger picture
even while you are zoomed way in and working on the fine details of your piece.
I can see why including a zoom slider on this docker is a confusing design,
though!
At any rate, I'll be closing this as resolved, but thank you as always for
helping Krita by submitting your bug report. =]
