The Notifications plugin relies on the "reply" button. Please check for it the
next time you receive an MMS by swiping down on the notification. I also use
the Messages app with Android 8 so I believe it should be there.

The Telephony plugin handles SMS specially, but the Notifications plugin
provides support for replying to any message including MMS (or WhatsApp, or any
other notification which provides an option to reply). In other words, the fact
that SMS works does not provide any information about MMS since they use
different mechanisms. We are working to move to only one mechanism,
specifically to using the Notifications plugin for everything, to eliminate
this confusion.

The Notifications plugin does not pop up a reply box like the Telephony plugin
did. Instead, you should see a Reply button in the desktop notification and a
little reply arrow in the list of notifications in the systray.

Also, please make sure you have not blacklisted the Messages app in the
Notifications plugin (I just realized I had mine blacklisted to prevent
duplicate SMS notifications!)
