Bug ID: 399113 Summary: Feature request: add reverse geocoding (country, state/province, city) to database Product: digikam Version: 6.0.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Geolocation-ReverseGeoCoding Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iwannaber...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- This is more like a brainstorming idea than a true feature request. I realized most of my tags contain either the people in the picture or the location where the picture was taken. The people part is already taken care of, but I thought it would be a cool feature to scan those pictures with existing geographical coordinates, do reverse geocoding, and create a location tree (country, province/state, and city) that you could browse. This information could ideally be stored in the database, and it would complement the already existing Map panel (which could be renamed simply as "Places". I checked, and there's an openstreetmap API that basically provides this information: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Nominatim#Reverse_Geocoding -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
