Both run as an AppImage so I don't see AppImage being the root cause. The scanning durations are consistent. To summarize, here's the 5.9.0 result: digikam.database: Complete scan took: 7366 msecs. And here's 6.0.0-beta3's result: Digikam::CollectionScanner::completeScan: Complete scan took: 152714 msecs.
