Bug ID: 403851 Summary: KMail often chokes, and have to be restarted Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: and...@alweb.dk Target Milestone: --- Very often, sometimes many times a day, kmail appears to stop working. It does not fetch new mail, mail can not be sent, and/or mail can not be displayed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use KMail for a while. suspend the system a few times. 2. At some point, get suspcious because you do not get mail 3. Get annoyed, because suddenly kmail will not display any mail, instead the infamous BSOD appears whenever a mail header is clicked. If a header is doubleclidked, a infinite "fetching message ..." progress dialog is spawned. OBSERVED RESULT Kmail is unstable, not safe to use. The cure is to quit (sometimes with a crash), restart akonadi wait a bit and launch kmail again. Sometimes this needs to be repeated. EXPECTED RESULT Working mail client. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Archlinux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 18.12.1 Qt Version: 5.12 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I use a laptop, which is closed (=> suspended) often. I suspect that the problem is more likely to happen after waking up after a suspension. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
